Details | [The jurors] also say that the same Thomas Fletcher (beheaded), on Sunday 16th June 1381 feloniously and against the dignity of the crown entered the rectory of Stratford and threatened the life and limb of Roger, parson of the church of Stratford, unless he and his associates gave him gold and silver for his expenses, and John atte Broke, chaplain of the said parson, in fear of his life and to be released gave him 26 s. 8 d. And the same Thomas Fletcher was a chief congregator and supporter from village to village in the hundred of Sampford at the time of the rising. |
