Short Description | John Wolleman, John Hosier and John Hogges raise the commons of Cottenham, Great Eversden and elsewhere |
Details | Chesterton. Another inquisition taken says that John Wolleman, John Hosier and John Hogges were instigators in raising the community on Monday 17th June 1381, and rode to Cottenham, Great Eversden and elsewhere in the county, committing various felonies and seditions, to the prejudice of the crown and oppression of the people. And by the same inquisition it is testified that all the aforesaid felons are beheaded in the county of Huntingdonshire for insurrection there, and therefore no further action against them has been taken, but it is ordered to the sheriff to arrest them. |
