And that on Tuesday 18th June 1381 at the time of the rumour a certain Thomas Kenman, dwelling in Holme-next-the-Sea, incited, procured and assembled various men of the country to sail with him in a certain boat to detain Edmund Gurnay and John de Holkham, sailing on the sea, and they pursued them to detain them as far as Holm lock, so that the same Edmund and John, despairing of life and limb, fled by night, saving their lives.
