Details | [The jurors] also say that Thomas Smyth of Letton on Wednesday 19th June 1381 at the time of the rising came with force and arms to Watton and made open threats to Richard de Multon, Master of the Hospital of St John at Carbrooke, for a certain debt the same Thomas incurred arrears, and if he is not willing to give back to the same Thomas this debt he would lead a certain society to the same Master's houses and to destroy them and throw them down. And because of these threats Richard de Rislee and Thomas atte Chambre made a fine of 20 marks with the aforesaid Thomas in the name of the Master. |
