Text (English translation)[Note at start of roll in 16th century stating] that the manor was recently part of the Abbey of Waltham Holy Cross 'now desolved' ... 'The register from the first to the seventh years of that king [Edward III] was burnt or otherwise broken up or destroyed'.
General InformationIt is not clear if the those rolls dating from 1327 to 1333 were destroyed in the Peasants' Revolt, but it is a possibility.
