Text (English translation)[Neatishead] First court held there on Wednesday next before the feast of St Peter Advincula in the 5 year of king Richard II (31 July 1381) and the 17 year of abbot William de Methewold, after the burning of the rolls. Because the court rolls and the custumal of this lordship relating to the bond tenants of the lord and the land his bond tenants held, were burnt by force, armed and fear of death. So a new remedy is set out, it is ordered to seize into the hands of the lord all lands and tenements which is held of the lord in villeinage whatsoever, as it were forfeited until the lord by his council then dispose of etc. And afterwards all bond tenants personally do fealty to the lord by body and chattel. And the other tenants of bond land do likewise fealty as instructed etc. And each of them personally swears on oath acknowledging all his holdings and by the grace of the lord they receive and hold in the following form. [followed by c. 140 regrants of lands and tenements] ... [Order] And that Adam atte Lath bondman of the lord withdrew himself and fled the country because he rose up against the peace of the king. Therefore, it is ordered to seize all his tenements etc. ... The jurors present that Roger Ropere and Bartholomew Buk snatched the rental of the lord from the lord's messor and burnt it. [In the following court several tenants refuse to take up their holdings]
