| Text (English translation) | Court held at Hutton 3 December 1381 Whereas a messuage and half an acre customary land of John Hose one of those tenements recently seized into the hands of the lord after the time of the rumour recently existing in the country for divers offences and contempts to the lord of this manor. Now at this court the aforesaid John comes and submits to the grace of the lord. And he pays a fine [3s 4d] to have the aforesaid messuage and land back by pledge of John Canoun and John Morice. Court held at Hutton 11 March 1382 At this court the lord grants John Aldwyn those 15 acres of 'warland' [liable for geld] called 'Aldwynland' which the same John held previously of the lord by the rod and which had been seized into the hand of the lord after the time of the rumour recently existing in the country, for the same John and his heirs to hold at the will [of the lord] etc. without prejudice etc. according to the custom [of the manor] etc. And he pays a fine [1/2 marc] to have entry as shown. And he does fealty.
