Et postea super consensum domini et tenentium omnis tenentes omnia terra et tenementa sua ad istam curie de novo receperunt tenendum eiis sicut antea tenuerunt faciendum sicut prius facere consueverunt omnes consuetudines et sicut debitur et co. Et omnis antiquas suas copias sursum redderunt et novas copias petierunt et talem statum sicut antea habuerunt et non aliter et co. Et sic concessum est eis pro dominum et co. |
Text (English translation) | Before this court the court rolls of John Burgherssh, knight, lord of Hatfied Peverel were set on fire and burnt at Hatfield Peverel by certain malefactor and disturbers of the peace whereby all the tenants of the manor aforesaid who held at will and by enrolment of the court did not have title to hold their lands; whereby all bond lands and tenements were taken and seized into the hands of the lord until etc. And afterwards, by agreement of the lord and tenants, the tenants received all their lands and tenements anew at this court to hold to them as they held before, to do as was accustomed formerly to be done all services due etc. And all their ancient copies were surrendered and new copies sought and such as they formerly had, and not otherwise.
