Et postea omnes nativi per se fecerunt domino fidelitatem de corpore et catall'. Et ceteri terram nativam tenentes fecerunt similiter fidelitatem ut decet et co. Text (English translation)[Thurne] First court held there after the burning of the rolls on Saturday on the feast of St Laurentius, 5 Richard II and the 17th year of abbot John de Methewold (10 August 1381) Because the court rolls and the custumal of this lordship relating to the bond tenants of the lord and the land his bond tenants held, were burnt by force, armed and fear of death. So a new remedy is set out, it is ordered to seize into the hands of the lord all lands and tenements which is held of the lord in villeinage whatsoever, as it were forfeited until the lord by his council then dispose of etc. And afterwards all bond tenants personally do fealty to the lord by body and chattel. And the other tenants of bond land do likewise fealty as instructed etc. And each of them personally swears on oath acknowledging all his holdings and by the grace of the lord they receive and hold in the following form. [followed by over 70 regrants of lands and tenements; the profit from entry fines was £18 9s] The jurors present that John Boys junior who was killed for his treacheries caused by his rising against the peace of the lord king held of the lord in villeinage 3 rood of land which were sowed with peas. And it is ordered to seize in order to escheat etc. And thereafter the crop was granted to Adam Waryn for 18 d.
