Text (English translation)The king to the sheriffs of London, greeting; if Joanna del Forge shall give us security to prosecute her claim, then place by sureties and safe pledges Robert atte Noke, brewer, and Beatrice his wife to be before us in the quindene of St Martin, wherever we may be in England, to show in what manner with force and arms they broke into the house of the said Joanna in the parish of St Dunstan-in-the-West, and carried off her goods and chattels worth 40 s., and also a certain chest with charters, writings and other muniments, and 10 s. in silver, to the grave damage of the same Joanna.
