| Text (English translation) | Cambridgeshire. William Wyggemore appeared in person against John Trumpyngtone, Peter Glovere, Thomas Prykke, tanner, William Kyng, tanner, Robert Brasyer, Walter Ferrour, Geoffrey Castre, Thomas Barbour of Cambridge, Hugh Candelesby, Robert Fytheon, John Cayly, chandler, Thomas Hawedone, Richard Servant Martyn, Nicholas Calvertone, Peter Prykke, John Est, fuller, Henry Reefham, John Chaterys, Thomas Chyld of Biggleswade, William Cote, William Northerne, John Perot and Peter Smyth on a plea that with force and arms they broke the closes and houses of the said William Wygemore at Cambridge, Bottisham and Teversham, and they took and carried away the timber from the aforesaid houses and also other goods and chattels to the value of £40, and likewise charters, writings and other muniments of his found there, and other enormities etc. And against the King's peace etc. And they did not come. And the aforesaid John Trympyngtone, Peter Glovere, Thomas Prykke, William Kyng, Robert Brasyere, Walter Ferrour, Geoffrey Castre, Thomas Barbour, Hugo Candelesby, Robert Fytheone and John Cayly have thence day after they appear on another occasion here in court. And nobody thence took day. And the sheriff is ordered to distrain them by all lands and revenues and produce him here at the quindene of Hilary 1385. And, just as frequently before, the sheriff is ordered to arrest them and produce them here at the aforesaid term etc. At which day, the sheriff did not send the writ. Therefore, just as before, they should be distrained, and, just as before, they should be arrested that they might be here at three weeks after Easter 1385 etc. |
