Text (English translation) | Norfolk. Roger, parson of the church of Skeyton, appeared through John Bestone, his attorney, against John Kates of Skeyton, Roger Sares of Skeyton, John Batemen of Skeyton, John Malot of Skeyton, Simon Whitewelle, Peter de Weybrygg, William Soutere of Skeyton, and Roger, his son, William Mous of Skeyton, and Thomas Moule of Skeyton on a plea that with force and arms they broke the close of the said Parson Roger at Skeyton, and took and carried away his goods and chattels found there to the value of 40s, and burnt charters, writings, rentals and other muniments of his found there, and other enormities etc against the peace. And they did not come. And the sheriff was ordered to attach them. And the sheriff reports that they have nothing. Therefore, the sheriff is ordered to arrest them and produce them here at the quindene of Trinity 1383. |
