Text (English translation)Norfolk. The prior of Wymondham appeared through William Hornyng, his attorney, against William Parle and John Longham on a plea that with force and arms they broke the close and houses of the said prior at Happisburgh, and took and carried away goods and chattels of his found there to the value of £100, and also burnt charters, writings, rolls, rentals, muniments and other memoranda of his found there, and likewise assaulted his men and servants in the same, and beat, wounded and ill-treated them whereby the same prior lost the service of his aforesaid men and servants for a long time, and other enormities etc against the peace etc. And they did not come. And the sheriff was ordered to attach them. And the sheriff reports that they have nothing. Therefore, the sheriff is ordered to arrest them and produce them here at three weeks after Easter 1383.
