Et ipsi non venerunt. Et vicecomes retornat quod predictus Iohannes Cogeshale attachiatum est per Willelmum Daux et Iohannem Rous. Et predictus Iohannes Hende per Adam Mite et Iohannem Scot. Ideo ipsi in misericordia. Et preceptum est vicecomiti quod non omittat etc quin distringat predictos Iohannem Cogeshale et Iohannem Hende per omnes terras. Et quod de exitis etc. Et quod habeat corpora eorum coram domino Rege in octabis Sancti Hillarii vbicumque etc. Et de predictis Henrico Stork et Iohanne Grygge vicecomes retornat quod ipsi nichil habent etc per quod etc. Ideo preceptum est vicecomiti quod non omittat etc quin caperet prefactos Henricum et Iohannem Grygge si etc. Et saluo etc. Ita quod habeat corpora eorum coram domino Rege ad prefatum terminum etc. |
Text (English translation) | Essex. The sheriff was ordered that he not omit to produce John Cogeshale of Rivenhall, John Hende, Henry Stork and John Grygge before the lord King at the quindene of Martinmas 1382, and wheresoever to answer the lord King concerning certain contempts and trespasses done to the lord King whereof they are indicted. And they do not come. And the sheriff returns that the aforesaid John Cogeshale is attached by William Daux and John Rous. And the aforesaid John Hende by Adam Mite and John Scot. Therefore, they are in mercy. And the sheriff is ordered that he should not omit to distrain the aforesaid John Cogeshale and John Hende by all lands and revenues and produce them before the lord King in the octave of Hilary 1383, wheresoever. And regarding the aforesaid Henry Stork and John Grygge the sheriff returns that they have nothing. Therefore, the sheriff is ordered that he not omit to arrest the aforesaid Henry and John Grygge and produce them before the lord King at the aforesaid term. |
