Text (English translation)[Mulsham] Court, Friday in the week of Easter 5 Richard II [11 April 1382] ... At this court the lord grants Richard Spayne of Great Baddow 6 acres of land lying in croftland called Holcroft which the same Richard and his heirs hold at the will of the lord and for services ... And he pays the entry fine. And he does fealty. ... At this court the lord grants John Carpenter of Moulsham and Margaret his wife ... And before the rolls of this court were burnt ... Court and view, Tuesday, in the week of Whitsun 5 Richard II [27 May 1382] ... It is ordered to seize into the hands the tenement which Margaret Lyghtfot and Margaret Shorthose and John Stalworth, cook, held by enrolment in the court because they did not come after the burning of the court rolls to receive the said tenement anew etc. and to respond about the profits ...
