| Text (English translation) | [The jurors] also present that Jacob atte Forde of Takeley in the county of Essex and William Reynold of Takeley in the county of Essex came on Friday after Corpus Christi (14 June 1381) to the aforesaid village [of Knightsbridge] and up to the village of Mile End with a multitude of insurgents against the lord king and his people; and they feloniously and treasonously destroyed and burned down the houses [of John Butterwick] there against the peace of the lord king etc. |
