William Hastyngs appears through Thomas de Elyngham, his attorney, against John Smyth of Aylsham and John, his son, John Curson, Thomas Ealyn, Robert Deye, Thomas Baldeman, William Mome, John Gyldeneye, Robert White, Richard Noke, Roger Podde, Thomas atte Falyate, Richard Bemond, Adam Hayt, Thomas de Byrlyngham, Robert Bowode, Roger Kyson, Robert Woderone, William Burgeys, Richard Moles, Henry de Burghwode, Richard de Beston, Reginald Litstere of Worstead, Edward Capon of Worstead, John Norwych of North Walsham, Richard Cok of North Walsham, John de Filby of North Walsham, Roger Knebord of Southrepps, Roger Cade of Alby, John Holond of Alby, Reginald Millere of Gunton, John Puddyngs of North Walsham and Bartholomew atte Calk on a plea that with force and arms they broke the closes and houses of the said William Hastyngs at Irmingland, and took and carried away his goods and chattels found there to the value of £40, and burnt charters, writings, rolls, rentals, muniments and other records of his found in the same, and other enormities, against the peace. And they do not come. And the sheriff has been ordered to attach them. And the sheriff reports that the aforesaid John Smyth and his son are attached, that is John Smyth by Henry Hunt and John Baas, and John, son of John, by Richard Gent and Thomas Shene. Therefore, they are in mercy. And the sheriff is ordered to distrain them by all lands and revenues and produce them here at the octave of Hilary 1384. And, concerning the aforesaid John Curson and others, the sheriff reports that they have nothing. Therefore, the sheriff is ordered to arrest them and produce them here at the aforesaid term. |
