| Text (English translation) | Norfolk. Robert Hereward, appears through Thomas Abbe, his attorney, against John Holtman, William Done of Hempstead, John Davy, John Bernard, William Pykshank, William, son of Thomas Dykkes, William Hang, William, son of Alice Wyntour, Peter Wyntour, John Souter of Salthouse, William, son of Richard Dousyng, Thomas Shraggere and John, son of John atte Deke on a plea that with force and arms they broke the close of the said Robert at Thurgarton and burnt a certain chest, two boxes and two bags of his found there, with the charters, writings and other muniments contained in the same chest, boxes and bags, and they assaulted his men and servants, beat, wounded and ill-treated them, and so greatly threatened the same men and servants, with death and the mutilation of their members, that, on account of a fear of death, the same men and servants withdrew from Robert's service and the same Robert lost the service of the same men and servants for a long time, and other enormities, against the peace. And they do not come. And the sheriff has been ordered to attach them. And the sheriff reports that they have nothing. Therefore, the sheriff is ordered to arrest them and produce them here at three weeks after Easter 1382. On which day the sheriff did not send the writ. Therefore, just as previously he is to arrest them and produce them here at the octave of Michaelmas 1382. Norfolk.
