Text (English translation)Memorandum that Spofford, Wodemanse, Scofer and Chandler were delivered to the Fleet prison and subsequently mainprised by Bigod and Paynell to be before the king in Chancery on the octave of the feast of St Peter ad vincula in 6 Ric. II upon which they were delivered from the Fleet. They were further mainprised by Orewell, Cranyne, Osmund and Sampson to be before the king in Chancery on the quindene of Michaelmas upon which Bigod and Paynell were discharged.
General Information[1382] The memorandum must date to after 20 September 1382 as it refers to Richard Scrope being 'tunc cancellarium', and he was replaced at that date by Robert Braybrook. The individuals in the document were involved in the disturbances in Beverley.
