| Text (English translation) | Writ of Richard II to the sheriff ordering him to take Whyte, Neuwerk and Bostan, and have them before the king on the Monday next after the feast of St John before the Latin Gate. Response: Argam ordered the return of the writ to Grimston, Fenton and Butimonde to make execution separately and they have answered: White and the others were not found within their liberties after the receipt of the writ. Argam responds that White and the others cannot be found in his bailiwick outside of the liberties after the receipt of the writ. |
