Text (English translation)The Prior of Harmondsworth requests new copies of charters and relief from his rent. During recent disturbances, the commons had entered his house, threatening him and burning all his muniments. Also, disease had killed all their sheep, leaving the house in poverty. Response: [None].
General Information[c. 1381-c. 1382] Dated on the guard to c. 1381-2. The events described almost certainly relate to an attack during the Peasants' Revolt. Harmondsworth was an alien priory, the rent referring to the fine paid by such priories to avoid dissolution. The Priory was dissolved in 1391-2.
