Text (English translation)Richard, by the grace of God King etc., to the treasurer and barons of our exchequer, greetings. Since, from our special grace, we granted to the burgesses and commonality of the town of Huntingdon, all the goods and chattels which belonged to John Smyth, John Ferror and Robert Fipp, felons and traitors to us from the time of rumour, during which certain commons rose up against our peace, and their goods and chattels were appraised at 6l. 19s. 8d., belonging to us, since they were forfeited to us because the said John, John and Robert were felons and traitors, just as they were killed and decapitated at the said town etc.; you we command that, of the said goods and chattels, the said burgesses and commonality, as our escheator of Huntingdonshire, and the bailiffs of the said town, are discharged and are made quit towards us at our said exchequer etc. Given under our privy seal at Westminster, 29 February 7 Rich. II [1384].
