Text (English translation) | Essex. Walter Fitzwalter, knight, by John Giffard his attorney, plaintiff, appears against John Hervy, John Wygge, William Turnour, Thomas Cokkeshened junior, Robert Elys and Andrew, son of Andrew Cokkeshened, defendants, on a plea that with force and arms they broke the close and the houses of the said Walter at Wimbish and burnt charters, deeds and rolls found there. And other enormities etc. And against the peace etc. And they [the defendants] do not come. Sheriff had been ordered to attach them. And sheriff returns that they have nothing [by which they can be distrained] etc. Sheriff ordered to arrest them to appear in the quindene of Michaelmas. |
