Joan, Countess of Hereford, by Thomas May her attorney appears against William Chaloner, Thomas Howe and Ralph Bierden on a plea that with force and arms they broke the close and houses of the said Countess at Harlow and took and burnt a bag with charters, deeds and other muniments found there and other enormities etc. and against the king's peace etc. They do not come. As before the sheriff is ordered to arrest them etc. And that he should have their bodies here at the day namely in the week of Trinity. And the sheriff now sends words that they cannot be found.
