Text (English translation) | Essex. William Marach, plaintiff, by Richard Waltham his attorney appears against William Hynde of Aythorpe Roding, John Mounteneye of Aythorpe Roding, John Phippe of Aythorpe Roding, John Child of Aythorpe Roding, John Orchard of Aythorpe Roding, John Haleman of Aythorpe Roding, John Gardevylle of Great Easton, John Spoty of High Roding, Robert Rakener of Lashley (in Lindsell), John Honchon, flexman, and Thomas Aleyn of High Roding, defendants, on a plea that with force and arms they broke the close and the houses of the said William Marach at Aythorpe Roding and burnt his charters, deeds, notes and other muniments they found there and took and carried away goods and chattels found there worth £20. And [they committed] other enormities etc. And against the peace etc. The defendants do not come. Sheriff ordered to attach them. Sheriff ordered to arrest them to appear in the quindene of St Michaelmas [1383]. |
