Item dicunt quod Willelmus Vaux de Fretenham venit vi et armis in isto rumore contra pacem domini Regis die veneris proxima ante festum sancti Iohannis Baptiste anno regis nunc quinto apud Stivekeye ad mansionem Willelmi Irmynglond et domum Robertum de Gayton capellanum ibidem crudeliter vita et membris minavit per societatem levatam contra pacem pro timore cuius mine fecit dictum Robertum facere finem et cepit quatuor marc' et ii s. Text (English translation)North Greenhoe The jurors present and say upon their oath that Simon Cook of Little Walsingham and Henry Sherman of the same rode to Mousehold Heath on Monday 17th June 1381 to Geoffrey Listere and instigated the said Geoffrey and his associates to come to Walsingham in the hundred of North Greenhoe to plunder and pillage in the said hundred, against the king's peace. Also they say that Dionisius Barkere of Hindolveston voluntarily and without coercion gathered himself a society and plundered and pillaged beginning on Monday 17th June 1381 at Norwich, Great Yarmouth and Twyford and at Wighton against Robert Hores, against the king and the king's peace, and he was a common plunderer and pillager. Also they say that William Vaux of Frettenham came with force and arms in that rumour against the king's peace on Friday 21st June 1381 to Stiffkey to the dwelling of William Irmynglond and the house of Robert de Gayton, chaplain, and there cruelly threatened his life and limb, with the society raised (in rebellion) against the peace, for fear of which (threats) the said Robert made a fine and he [William] took 4 marks 2 s. Also they say that William Qwiltemakere was in the society that rose up to plunder and pillage goods and chattels worth 10 s. at Wighton, by a certain [...] and elsewhere against the king's peace [...] on Wednesday 19th June 1381. Also they say that Simon Gosberkerke of South Creake and Nicholas Glovere staying in Little Walsingham were at Hindringham by night at the dwelling of William de Wilbeye and threatened him with the society raised (in rebellion), for fear of which threats he made a fine with them of £3 on Tuesday 25th June 1381. Also they say that a certain Walter Tiler came and gathered himself a society raised (in rebellion) and led them to the dwelling of lord William, parson of Thursford on Monday 17th June 1381 to search for and pursue John Holkham, king's justice, and from his dwelling they rode to the manor of William de Wilbeye pursuing the said John in order to kill him, and because of the aforesaid John the said William and William [...] were threatened.
