Text (English translation)North Greenhoe Inquisition held etc. namely by Robert Galoun and his associates, sworn. And they present that a certain William Vaus of Frettenham on Friday 14th June 1381, in the recent uprising of men of the county, came to Stiffkey and threatened the life and limb of Robert, the parson of the church of Hainford, and uprooted the houses of William Irmyglond, until he received 4 marks 2 s. from the aforesaid Robert as a fine, against the king's peace. And that Dionisius Barker of Hindolveston, Henry Shareman of Little Walsingham, Simon Kook of the same and William Prentyng of Sparham , bailiff, in the recent uprising of the county, were common plunderers of men in various villages and places, and plundered goods and chattels worth 100 s. at Wighton at the house of John atte Mille and Robert Hore, and were common leaders of plunderers at that time. And that the aforesaid Henry and Simon rode up to a great company at Cawston and took their charge from the same company, and made them swear to rise up in the area of Walsingham, against the peace and crown. And that Walter Prat of King's Lynn, glover, and Thomas son of Thomas Paynot of King's Lynn in the aforesaid uprising on Thursday 20th June 1381 came to Egmere and there threatened Robert, parson of the church of Egmere, with cutting off of his head and tearing off of his limbs unless they would have from the same Robert 104 s. as a fine. And that Simon de Goseberekirke of South Creake, Walter Souter of Little Walsingham, Nicholas Glovere of the same, recently dwelling in King's Lynn, and William Quyltere dwelling in Houghton, with others unknown were at Wighton , and despoiled John atte Mille and Robert Hore of their goods in the said recent uprising, and were common trespassers riding in the county, and were in the same way at the house of John de Holkham to search for the said John, and at the house of William de Wilbeye in the same way, and threatened his life at night, and were at the house of William, parson of Thursford, to search for and kill the aforesaid John de Holkham, against the peace and king's crown etc.
