Text (English translation)Village of Ingham William Avelyn, Richard Avelyn, John Collesson, John Rogeresson, John Avelyn, William Bisshop, Edmund Bisshop, Thomas Bickesson, Walter de Tateshale, John Ballard, Thomas Bakere, Thomas Clerke, Alexander Clovere, William Howard, Robert Smyth and Nicholas Beaufitz, jurors, say upon their oath that Robert Capon acknowledges that he went to the market in Hickling to gather various men in burning charters, court rolls, accounts and other documents of the manor of Ingham, to the prejudice of the lord, on Friday 28th June 1381 . And that John Levesson of Sutton, John atte Chaumbre of Potter Heigham, William Skondere of Catfield, Alan Dykes of Potter Heigham and Robert atte Welle, thatcher of Ludham, burnt said documents with the said Robert Capon on the aforesaid day and year. And that John Bubbyng of Ingham was a common wrongdoer, and he rode from village to village raising other wrongdoers, and threatened his neighbours so that they despaired of their lives. And that Thomas Croyde of Ingham was an accessory in the burning of documents of the manor of Ingham etc.
