Text (English translation)Orford At Ipswich Inquisition held before William de Ufford, Earl of Suffolk, king's justice by virtue of the king's commission, by oath of Richard Martyn and others whose names remain with the court who say upon their oath that one John Batesford, parson of the church of Bucklesham, feloniously and treacherously rose on Sunday 16th June 1381 in the county of Suffolk and made assemblies and gatherings against the king and to the prejudice and injury of the crown. Also they present that John Dene son of William Dene feloniously and treacherously killed William Fraunceys of Melton at Ipswich, beheading him on Monday 17th June 1381.
