Text (English translation)Inquisition held ex officio at (King's) Lynn in the said county on 1 June 1382 before John Reed, escheator of the lord king in the beforementioned county, [the jurors] said upon their oath that Jacob Boutere, traitor (who) fled because of the insurrection against [the lord king and] his allegiance, committed on 14 June 1381, has no goods and chattels but he held in his wife's Johanna's right a cottage and 1 ½ acres of land in Tilney in the said county which is valued at 2 s. a year ... Item they said that Robert de Toft (Tost?), chaplain, insurgent against his allegiance and convicted for diverse treasons before William de Thorp and his associate justices had goods and chattels worth 6 s. 8 d. ... Item they said that Roger Hunte, traitor to the king on 14 June 1381, convicted before the said justices held on the day he was convicted in his demesne and fee 2 acres of free land in Walsoken in a field called Sybilye in the said county, which is valued at 2 s. a year and which remains in the hands of Thomas ate Assh, bailiff to the bishop of Ely at Mitford ...
