Text (English translation) | Thomas Fog v William son of John Ive et al. Kent - William son of John Ive de Wynchepe attached to answer Sir Thomas Fogge by his attorney William Repyndon on a plea that together with John Kyrton, John Hogge of Wincheap, William Spencer of Westgate, thresher, Hugo Moneye of Westgate, John Walmere of Westgate, William atte Welle, Thomas Longeman, Thomas Knyght, Phillip Tanner, thresher, John Doghere, Henry Bacon, thresher, Simon Ropere, John Atteras, Robert Boneyt junior, webber, John son of Richard Ropere and Thomas Jankyn on 10 June 1381 with force and arms, namely swords, bows and arrows, he broke the close and houses of the said Thomas Fogge at Tenterden and took and carried away goods and chattels, namely a silver drinking bowl, four silver spoons, eight maple cups, twenty gold containers, twelve gold buckles, three gold rings, woollen and linen cloth and four belts pressed with gold and silver, to the value of £40, and other damage to the value of £100. William comes by Robert Oxenbrigg his attorney and says not guilty and on country. Fogge likewise. Jurors to come. |
