Text (English translation) | Hundred of Middleton in Sheppey Jurors of Sheppey namely Richard Wrek and his associates say on their oath that Walter Lansle and John Elys master of a certain balinger [small boat] rose up against the king's peace together with fifteen others whose names are unknown on 11th June 1381 at the manor of Reyham in Sheppey in the hundred of Milton feloniously took 2 cows, 27 sheep, 11 quarters of corn, 492 fleeces, wool and other goods and chattels worth £24 from Nicholas Heryng and feloniously carried them away. The aforesaid Walter and John and their associates feloniously broke into the house of Nicholas Heryng on the same day and in the same location. William Ryderwyk on the same day went to the house of Agnes Mellere at Minster in Sheppey and menaced her with the aforesaid Walter and John so that the aforesaid William Ryderwyk made an acquittance for 32 s. in which Agnes was named as the debtor. |
