Et quod idem Iohannes die veneris proxima post festum Sancte Trinitatis et quamplures de predicta societate et congregationibus predictis venerunt in villam de Brenchesle et ibidem domum Willelmi Wylle felonice fregerunt et prosternaverunt et bona sua et catalla ad valenciam c. s. a loco predicto spoliaverunt et abduxerunt. Et quod Willelmus Burre Iohannes Burre iunior Iohannes Burre senior Robertus Ide Nicholas Burre Thomas Burre Bocher de parochia de Brenchesle die Sabbati proxima post festum Trinitatis anno predicto proclamacione facta, quod quilibet domum reddierit in pace, venerunt in villam de Tonbregge cum magna conventicula et ibidem domum Nicholi Merefeld felonice fregerunt et prosternaverunt et bona sua et catalla ad valenciam c. s. spoliaverunt. Text (English translation)Hundred of Brenchley and Horsmonden John Godegrom of his own free will joined various congregations and assemblies who rose seditiously against the king and his people, and remained in their company continuously from the 6th of June 1381 until the present, supporting all seditions and felonies committed by them during that time. The same John on 14th June 1381 with certain others of the aforesaid company went to Brenchley and feloniously broke into the house of William Wylle and threw it down and plundered and carried off goods and chattels worth 100 s. William Burre, John Burre junior, John Burre senior, Robert Ide, Nicholas Burre, Thomas Burre, butcher of the parish of Brenchley, on 15th June 1381 made a proclamation, that whoever wanted their house left in peace should go to Tonbridge with the great company and there they feloniously broke into and threw down the house of Nicholas Merefeld and plundered goods and chattels worth 100 s. And the aforesaid William Burre and John Burre senior and certain others on 16th June 1381 went to Brenchley and broke open the prison and stocks there. William Poule of Brenchley made threats inciting various assemblies of the same hundred to rise up against the king and his people on 30th June 1381.
