Item dicunt quod Robertus Hemery de [Ulcombe, deleted] Lenham et Iohannes Mellere de Ulcombe resurexerunt contra dominum Regem et populos suos apud Lenham die Mercurii proxima post festum Apostolorum Petri et Pauli anno ut supradicto et fecerunt iurare diversos homines ad eos ut levaverunt contra dominum Regem et magnatos et [ceperunt, deleted] arrestaverunt diversos victuales videlicet pisces friscos ad valenciam tresdecim solidorum et dicunt etiam quod sunt communes proditores dicti domini Regis. Item dicunt quod Ricardus Ropere de Berghestede apud Cantuariam die lune in crastino Sancte Trinitatis anno ut supradicto felonice interfecit Iohannem Tebbe Cantuariae. Item dicunt quod Willelmus [Wekok, deleted] Wrekok taylior de Thornham felonice furatus fuit de Thoma Fogge milite i pelum et i lavatorem argenti pretii c. solidorum apud Toneforde die Mercurii proxima post festum Sancte Trinitatis anno ut supradicto. Text (English translation)Hundred of Eyhorne John Henle of Harrietsham on 15th June 1381 at Harrietsham willingly entered the company of wrongdoers and rose against the king and his people, and on the same day feloniously broke into the house of John Bromnyng at Harrietsham. Robert Hemery of Lenham and John Mellere of Ulcombe rose against the king and his people at Lenham on 3rd July 1381 and made various men to swear to them to rise against the king and his magnates, and seized various victuals, namely fresh fish, worth 13 s., and they are common traitors to the king. Richard Ropere of Bearsted on 10th June 1381 at Canterbury feloniously killed John Tebbe of Canterbury. William Wrekok, tailor of Thurnham, feloniously stole from Thomas Fogge, knight, a hide and a silver wash-bowl worth 100 s. at Tonford Farm (manor, parish of Thanington Without) on 12th June 1381. All else is well.
