Text (English translation) | Cambridgeshire. William Bateman, plaintiff, appears in person against Walter Bonde of Knebworth, Thomas Kyngeston carpenter, Thomas in le Welwes of Barrington junior, John Gippe of Knebworth, Peter Mold, William Hervy, John son of William Mold, William Baldry, John Roger of Crishall, John Smyth of Crishall, Henry atte More and John his son, John Parker of Clopton junior, Richard Cook of Linton, John Hamond of Linton, and Thomas Child of Biggleswade on a plea that they burnt his house at Harlton. £40 damage. They do not appear. Walter Bonde and Thomas Kyngeston attached by Thomas Bonde and Walter Kyngeston, therefore they are in mercy. Sheriff ordered to distrain them by their lands to appear in quindene of Michaelmas.
