Text (English translation)It is ordered to distrain Richard ate Mad to be here at the next court to answer the lord for his trespass entering an enclosed 'croft' land called Stonhel, on the lord's demesne, seizing it as common (land) without licence at the time of the rumour made in the week after the feast of Trinity last past [9 to 15 June 1381]. And John Norforde, to be at the next court here, to answer the lord for his trespass entering the lord's manor during the time of the aforementioned violent rumour and making all the lord's servants to turn away from their offices and their duties against their wills, to the grave damage to the lord and those servants, against the peace, etc.
