Osbert de Mundeford forced to lead rebellion by John Geldere
[The jurors] also say that Osbert de Mundeford, on 15th June in the above-mentioned year (1381) was captured by John Geldere and others, who made him swear to be their leader against his will.
Also that John Gelder, who was staying in Bury St Edmunds, was a common leader of wrongdoers, who was captured by various men of Thetford, because the aforesaid John Gelder had on him at the time, namely 17th June 1381, 6 marks 2 s. and 4 and a half d. in money, a sword and shield, and a horse, saddle and bridle worth 2 marks, the which chattels were handed over and delivered to the custody of John Berd, Richard Paltok and Thomas Walter.
