Sussex - The sheriff is ordered that Ralph Blak should make security to attach Thomas Potyn of Wyghtcresham, John Hankyn, William Clerk, Ralph atte Wattele, John Knyght, Peter Broun, Stephen Brodeney junior, John Brodeney, John Lovekyn and Geoffrey Oxenbrigge on a plea that they should be there on this day to respond to the aforesaid Ralph on a plea that with force and arms they broke the close and houses of the said Ralph at Uhurst and took and burnt charters, writings and other muniments, and took and carried away goods and chattels worth £20. They do not come. The sheriff now sends that the said Ralph had not found pledges for prosecution. And now the said Ralph appears in person and provided security to the King's justices viz. Robert Oxenbrigg and John Rande. Therefore they are in mercy. Sheriff ordered as before to attach them to be in CP in octave of Hilary - does not return writ - order repeated as many times before to be in CP in octave of S. Michael - on which day does not return writ - order repeated as many times before to be in CP in octave of Hilary - sheriff does not return writ - order repeated as many times before to be in CP in octave of Trinity.
