2791Simon Hey v Benedict Kyx et al.Kent - Benedict Kyx in mercy for false claim. Benedict and Thomas atte Donne 'tanner' attached to answer Simon Hey, by his attorney Thomas Holt on a plea that together with John Date, cobbler, William Coupere of Kekkyngbourne, John Flecchere of Ospringe, William Coupere that was Jak servant Strowe, Henry Plomford and Geoffrey Cartere of Lyndyngbourne, on 10 June 1381, with force and arms, namely swords, bows and arrows, they broke the close and houses of the said Simon at Ospringe and burnt the timber of the said houses to the value of £10, and took and carried away goods and chattels worth £20 and £32 in money, and consumed two tuns of red wine worth £10 and did other damage to the value of 100 marks. Benedict comes by Thomas Kenyfeld his attorney and Thomas comes himself and say not guilty and on country; jurors to come in quindene of Trinity.
