Comments | On 28 March 1382, the keeping of a built messuage, 37 acres of arable land, 50 acres of pasture, 5 acres of meadow and 20 acres of wood in Lamberhurst, Brenchley and Hadlow. late of John Couesherst, traitor, of the county of Kent, deceased, who was convicted for divers felonies and treasons, was committed to William Daune, clerk, chief harbinger of the King's household,. by mainprise of William Evot and William Baybrok, citizens of London, for as long as the lands shall remain in the king's hand, rendering 26s 8d yearly: Calendar of Fine Rolls 1377-83, p. 289.
