William Meryham threatens and extorts money from Thomas Smyth, 26 June 1381
They [the jurors] say that William Meryham of Goudhurst went to Loose on the 26th June 1381 and wished to cut off the head of Thomas Smyth of Loose against the peace unless the said Thomas made a fine with the said William of 13s 4d which he paid to the said William.
