The Jurors of the foresaid hundreds, to inquire concerning malefactors who maliciously made insurrection against our Lord the King, and his people, in the fourth year of the reign of King Richard the Second after the Conquest, say upon their oath that, on Monday next after the feast of the Holy Trinity (10th June, 1381), in the foresaid year, Laurence Smyth, of Chillenden, and John Gunne, of Monkton, maliciously, and against the peace, made insurrection, at Chillenden, against our Lord the King, and his people, and continued that insurrection till Saturday after the feast of St. Barnabas the Apostle (15th June, 1381), in the foresaid year,
