Killing of John Hobbe by Richard Ecclessale parson of Potton
Richard Ecclessale parson of Potton stabs to death his servant John Hobbe on Thursday 13 June 1381 at Potton, witnessed by another servant Richard Spyser. He afterwards fled, and the coroner William Frenssh was unable to conduct an inquiry into his chattels due to the arrival of a great multitude of rebels from various counties, but instead fled in fear of his life.
