Writ concerning burning of charters in Kingston upon Hull
To the mayor and bailiffs of Kingston upon Hull. Writ of supersedeas until the next parliament, notwithstanding any previous command to them addressed to proceed therein, in regard to a plea pending before them in the king's court of that town, according to the liberties granted them by former kings, between Gerard de Ousflete and Katherine who was wife of William de la Pole knight and Michael de la Pole concerning a messuage in the town, upon petition of the defendants, showing that in the late insurrection their charters and muniments concerning the same were burnt by the insurgents, and that if they had those ready it would be to their advantage in that plea; as it is the king's will to make provision by advice of the lords and great men of the realm in the next parliament for a remedy in all such cases.
