The jurors say that on Sunday 23 June 1381 Robert Galoun and others rose up at Scarborough in various gatherings and assemblies against the lord king and his lieges, both with force and arms and against the lord king's peace, and removed Robert de Aclom, one of the bailiffs of the town of Scarborough, from his office, and besieged the same Robert and many other lieges of the lord king, namely Robert Paa, John Stokwyth, William Scot, William Semer, William Person, William Manby, John Bonde, Henry Baunburgh, John Cartere and many others whose names are not known, in their houses there, and afterwards dragged them from the same houses and otherwise wished to kill or burn them in the aforesaid houses, feloniously and treacherously; and they afterwards took them to prison and held them in prison there until they had made fines and redemptions with them at their will.
