02/02/1379 to 24/06/1379Stotfold,BedfordshireWilliam Nichol of Stotfold indicted before the justices of the peace for Bedfordshire that about 2 February 1379 he burnt houses of Simon Wydewesson together with crops and other goods and chattels to the value of forty pounds. And about 25 March 1379 he broke the chamber of the said Simon there and took goods and chattels worth forty pounds. And about 24 June 1379 at Stotfold he feloniously stole and abducted a mare of John Gedyhale worth twenty shillings. Brought before the justices to deliver the gaol at Bedford on 23 May 1382, he produced a pardon dated 12 March 1382 together with a writ dated 20 September 1382 confirming that he had provided sureties for his good behaviour. Allowed to go sine die. JUST 3/164, m. 7
