28/06/1378 to 05/10/1381 | Oakley,Bedfordshire | At the delivery of Bedford gaol on 1 March 1379, Hugh had been arrested on an indictment before the sheriff at the tourn of Stodden Hundred that on 28 June 1378 in the fields of Thurleigh he feloniously stole two silver shillings from Katherine wife of Thomas Gawge. And also that the said Hugh Coterell alias Hugh Leche of Oakley next Clopham on 5 October 1381 feloniously killed John Ewell at Oakley. Hugh appears and produces a pardon dated 26 May 1383 togerher with a writ dated 26 September 1383 confirming that he had given sureties for his good behaviour.
