John Pipere and John Shepherd threaten Simon Warde and Alan atte Grene
[The jurors] also say that John Pipere of Briston and John Shepherd of Sharrington, at the time of the uprising and insurrection of the people against the king's peace, on the aforesaid day and year at Bale , went to the house of Simon Warde and the houses of Alan atte Grene and other various men, along with other wrongdoers, and threatened them openly that unless they gave them various sums of money they would kill and behead them, and thus they took the sum of half a mark.
John Pypere and John Schephird threaten and extort money from Simon Warde, Richard Sagge, Alan atte Grene and Peter Neve
They also present that on Tuesday 18th June 1381, John Pypere of Briston and John Schephird of Sharrington, staying in Hunworth, went to the mansions of Simon Warde, Richard Sagge, Alan atte Grene and Peter Neve and threatened them, and made them give them silver to the sum of 6 s. 8 d. against their will.
