Rebellion of John Batisford, Thomas Sampson and John Martyn
The jurors present that John Batisford, parson of the church of Bucklesham, Thomas Sampson and John Martyn, chaplain, on Sunday 16th June 1381 at the time of the rising were chief congregators and supporters from village to village of various men in the hundreds of Samford, Ipswich, Colneis, Bosmere and Claydon, falsely and fraudulently and against the peace and dignity of the crown.
