Attack on Richard earl of Arundel by William Grete and William Wodeland
Richard, earl of Arundel complains that William Grete of Lewys [Lewes], William Wodelond of Clyve by Lewys [Cliffe], and other insurgents in the county of Sussex, came armed to Lewes, broke his closes and the gates, doors and windows of his castle there, threw down his buildings, consumed and destroyed ten casks of wine, value £100, and burned his rolls, rentals and other muniments.
